When life throws you a burger ( and a couple of other nice things) eat it! I guess its obvious now that eating at a good restaurant with old and new friends is something I consider part of living a civilized life. If you love Sierra Bar and Grill at Yaya Centre, darling you will be head over hills with Sierra Burger and Wine at the Rivaan Centre. I was here courtesy of Have You Eaten Here Kenya #HYEH
With an urban edge you experience the ultimate New York loft interior – raw and stark, kinda makes you want to eat a burger and have a beer ( Sierra’s craft beer, which is absolutely amazing) overlooking the Westlands neighborhood.
Sierra Burger and Wine stocks a selection of wines that are each hand picked by their wine sommeliers from the vineyards of South Africa. Yes, you guessed right, this is not the variety you casually come across in your neighborhood liquor store!
If there was any one time I had to try something new, it was this very moment when I had to have oysters! Did I love it? Totally! I enjoyed their taste of sea, and their cold metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away leaving a happy feeling!
Tip: it’s safe to pair sea food with a cold, crisp white wine. I personally went for a Sauvignon Blanc.
Aging beef greatly contributes to the tenderness and flavour of the meat. That way its more satisfying to the taste buds! A sierra burger has very minimal toppings, you won’t find lettuce, tomatoes or pickles. But it tastes twice as good! I had a Bacon and Cheese burger with a side of onion rings! Voted the best burger in town by a girl who loves burgers!
Accompanied my meal with a signature craft beer, “blonde“. That is the most tolerable beer I’ve ever had. Very light and subtle. If you’re a first timer trying beer, this is a go to.
So, whether you’re a salad eating freak or a junkie, few words,
Eat clean, stay fit but have a burger to stay sane!
