JUST GO – KAMPALA

Hey everyone,

It has been a long time coming for me to actually document a travel post. In my defense, I haven’t traveled much, but I do agree that I should show you guys more of what it’s like to be in a new town, city or country!

Not too long ago, I made a trip to Kampala, Uganda.

(Here’s the link to the video)

Granted its not too far (approximately under 2 hours flight), it was a very easy and quick decision to make that I would make the trip. A short trip for that matter, I only had one day a few hours, to roam Kampala and have something to share with you guys! 

Make today an adventure kind of day.

That is the conviction I woke up with- especially after having a fun filled first night at Mythos Greek Taverna & Lounge – I was convinced that this city had some good vibes.

So you can bet your life I wanted to see EVERYTHING! So I threw on some clothes and put together this outfit which btw thaaaank you guys for loving it; I got amazing feedback in my DMs (that’s the only one time I really got people sliding in my DM😒) It was a rainy morning, I had to keep warm.

Staying in the up town area of Kampala, (apartment pictured above, if you think I’m blocking the view, pffft I am the view), I could easily access almost every mall, I think – I went to the Acacia mall. I was curious to see what shops they have, and being the foodie that I am, I was keen on the restaurants there! I mean there’s no love sincerer than the love of food!

So the stores aren’t that different from what we have here. The restaurants I’d suggest you try out if you find yourself in Kampala, would be Caffesserie – more like our Art Caffe here in Nairobi. Well, there is also the fish I got from room service!

Bruh that fish was by far the best fish I’ve had in a while. Probably because it was fresh from the lake you know! Just writing this makes me suffer from ‘THAT FEELING OF MISSING SOMETHING YOU ATE’ << insert word.

Anyway, so I ended up sitting at Nawab’s Asian Bistro! Had an amazing Caesar salad and paired this with a chill white wine. I went for a light meal because I was so hot, thanks to the weather that switched up on me a good one! The service was great, the food amazing and ambience was EXTRA! This restaurant is at the roof top of the Acacia mall and is definitely worth a try!

My last day, on my way to Entebbe, (yes, the airport is so far away), we stopped for some more fish, the one I thoroughly enjoyed! At the beach! Ideally it is the lake side, but when you go to Rome, you do what the Romans do; so we shall call it the beach. It was beautiful all the same. Had a few sundowners at Protea – a very nice hotel that serves amazing fries and samosas and long islands!

And then suddenly it was home time and for some reason none of my friends were ready to have me back! LOL

Anyway I am back but do not fret, June is full of good travels!
