A wise man once said, “Wine is bottled poetry.” That wise man was Robert Louis Stevenson. It’s the end of the week and it’s beginning to look a lot like Wine O’clock! That being said, I have the perfect wine-down plan for you! Just recently, I was invited to the launch of The Fairview Hotel’s wine cellar! An evening of playing dress up, indulging in fine wine and a spread of charcuterie!
Located in the heart of Nairobi, the hotel’s underground, wine cellar has long been a hidden gem and sanctuary for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs and for years, it served as a haven for those seeking respite from bustling city life, where vintage wines from around the world were kept, perfectly aged, and served for years as a retreat for those seeking solace from the hectic city life.

Open every day from 12:30 pm to 10:00 pm, guests will have the unique opportunity to select their charcuterie platters, available from KES 4,000 (USD 40) per person. These carefully curated platters feature an assortment of premium cheeses, cured meats, olives, and more, expertly paired to complement the outstanding selection of wines available at Fairview cellar.
